"Think. Learn. Pray. Plan. Dream. For soon... you will become."

  1. My sister loves the seasons of our native New England. Her roots are well planted and now begins the time that she marvels at the "autumnal splendor" --- my goodness, it's like she hung the decorations herself. Although, I love a warmer climate, the vibrant yet fleeting palette of fall makes my heart happy --- and the thought of an Indian summer day makes me smile. Isn't it a significant time to reflect on all that is changing and sift all that is good? Take a moment to be still; behold the beauty of fall and get ready for the harvest of dreams well planted...

  2. I wonder if others felt it, that romantic kiss of fall when the leaves seem to be on fire, but the air has a distinctly crisp touch. It is a season of unique beauty and transformation. Fall reminds me of those innocent days at the start of a new school year, when I knew I would meet new students and make new friends. I loved school. So, while the leaves were falling and nature appeared to hibernate, I chose to grow intellectually and romantically. Those chilly afternoons were less of a challenge huddled close to a new girlfriend. The bonfires with roasted chestnuts and marshmallows, the songs we sang, the long walks holding hands all lent to the joy and anticipation of happy holidays and happy times, "when autumn leaves start to fall."

  3. Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did summer go so quickly?
Was it something that she said?

    Lovers walk along a shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand?

    Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of a song,
    half-remembered names and faces
but to whom do they belong?

When you knew that it was over
    You were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair?

  4. Autumn...I'm taken back to a time when I lived in Colorado and would love to visit Aspen to catch a glimpse of the leaves changing from their beautiful glistening golden color to a deep, warm red. There was a sense of peace when making the drive and I always felt a little closer to God with the elevation. I also think of autumn as the countdown to Thanksgiving. Another day and time to reflect on the many blessings bestowed upon me, having so many loving family members and friends and that it's okay to overindulge in the magnificent yummies!! Can't wait...
